No, I'm not dead!

I am so NOT good at new schedules, new routines and new school years, so be patient with me. I have a big "Summer in Review" post planned to show all of our fun, fun, fun summer activities. I will get to it soon-probably this weekend?

Hey, YOU! Leave a comment!

Now that I have this here little tracker thing, I know when you visit but don't leave a comment!!! Talk about a stab to my little ego! Tell me "hi" when you visit, I wouldn't come to your house and ring the door bell and walk away! I love to hear from you. It's a lonely world some days, this staying home thing. Thanks for your comments, I'll do the same when I visit or stalk your blog okay? Is it a deal?

Lagoon makes me smile!

What is it about Lagoon that just makes most everyone smile? A few weeks ago we had maybe the BEST day at Lagoon ever and my friend, (Thanks, Johanna!) just inspired me to finally get this post up about it. We met my family there minus Gary and Kate's family, who were in Disneyland and Scott and Lydia, who had to work. We had a fabulous day! The weather was absolutely PERFECT! Not too cold, not too hot. We had great company and great food! What more could we ask for? The favorite ride of the day was Odessy. Even Grandpa loved it! I think the funniest thing I have seen in a long time was when my sister and her husband were on it and he didn't know that you could control the up and down movement. Right when they would get to the water spouts she would lower or higher it so that he would get soaked EVERY time! It was HILAROUS!!! I thought my dad was going to fall off the bench laughing so hard. It was a great day had by ALL! Thanks, Dad and Shawna! They are the best!

Project Life!

I've been meaning to blog about this for a long time but never make it a priority, I guess. This is a scrapbook project that I have been working on this year. Let me explain a bit about it but just keep reading before you freak out at the first... I take one picture every day of the year and journal the little card every day. Now at first I was like, "yeah right, a picture every single day, I can't do that." but 7 months into it I can tell you that I LOVE IT!!!! I got the idea from my favorite scrapbook Hero, Goddess, Idol, Becky Higgins. Can I just tell you that I love her? I have not ever met her in person, much to my disapointment, but I could tell you just about anything you would like to know about her life from the past say 10 or 12 years that I have been following her. It's kind of a creepy, stalking, obsessive relationship I have secretly with her. I have always said that if I could ever meet her then I may as well go ahead and die because that's all I need to complete my life. Okay that may be a little over board but I would truely be complete if I could just spend an afternoon with her. I have even talked about moving to Arizona to maybe run into her say at the grocery store or something! This woman is AWESOME! She is near perfect in my eyes that's for sure! Anyway back to Project Life.... well, what else do I tell you about it? You buy it through Amazon and contect through my website to hers, on the right. I don't think I can do Project Life justice so just go to her website and check it out. It has changed my life. I don't feel so overwhelmed in the scrapbook department anymore because it's just one picture, one little journal card a day. It has become my Sunday afternoon project to work on it. I even bore my testimony in church about this wonderful project. I have loved looking back over the year so far to remember the little things that I never scrapped about before. Some days I don't have anything big to write about but that's what I love about it, you get all the details, the real stuff life's about with this little beauty. No I am not getting paid for advertising from Becky Higgins but I really should be, I've told LOTS of people about it. I will be posting more pictures from it throughout the year that you can be sure!

Ouch!

OUCHIE!!! NO I didn't paint Maddie's skin with pink paint. That is a really, really, really bad sunburn! She went to the pool with some sweet friends and I think she learned her lesson the hard way about sunscreen and going out for the first time of the summer. Normally that wouldn't have happened to a dark, easy-to-tan girl like Maddie but she hadn't been out at all until this day, mostly because Nathan has been so sick. The sunburn is all better and she is getting her regular "summer tan" color this week since Nathan's on the up and up that's for sure! It gave her something to get attention about while Nathan was getting all the attention from everyone from his surgery (see post below.) That is a hard thing to give up when there are only two children in a family--that attention thing! Love you, Maddie Girl!

More tonsil pics

Bye, bye tonsils!

Well, we've made it through Nathan's tonsilectomy! I didn't really know what to expect but it wasn't THAT bad. I can say that now that we are finished with all the healing and out of the recovery mode. There were a few days that I wasn't too sure what I was going to do. He would NOT eat or drink ANYTHING! I tried almost everything I could get my hands on. Nothing. I actually ended up taking him over to my dad's. Thank heavens he believes in my dad's famous saying.... "everything always tastes better at Grandma's." Shawna got him to eat and drink more than I had all week--in one sitting! Thank heavens because I was on my way to the ER. I don't have an exact amount from a scale but I swear he lost about 10-12 pounds! To most of us that isn't that big of a deal but he's a pretty skinny kid anyway. He is making up for lost time and is now eating every 2 hours at least! It's like he's a baby again! :) He was such a trooper and didn't really ever complain except when it came time for pain medicine. (That stuff is NASTY by the way!) He would get all geared up to take the lortab by getting his favorite "medicine taking drink" AKA Kool aid Squeeze it punch. It was pretty cute because it didn't matter what time of day or night it was, when he finally would ask for pain meds because he just couldn't stand it any more he would go running to the storage room for the squeeze it! I just love that boy and all his little quirks, you could say he has a little OCD, and I don't have any idea where he got something like that~! :) Love you, Nathan, buddy! Way to be tough!

Just Life!

Well, I stink at this blog thing you all know! I check it almost everyday to see if anyone has even visited and left a comment. Then I check all of yours-almost everyday, I swear, and I have decided that the best blogs are the everyday blogs. You know the kind where people write about all the little things their kids do and say and all the little things we do each day. I am going to try this week to change the way I blog. Try to catch up from the crazy busy spring we had and blog about the lazy summer days we have been having the last week. I don't really feel like it is summer yet because of the 50 degree weather we have been having----COME ON mother nature! Summer is for suntans and swimming pools, bike rides and BBQ's not sweaters and blankets! This cold weather has gotten me a bit down. We have a wild week ahead of us here at the Geldmacher house but I will try my bestest to get on this here computer and blog!!! (Going to Lagoon tomorrow and Nathan's getting tonsils out on Wednesday) Should be interesting-eh? Later gator!

Where have I been?

Where, oh where has Lisa the blooger been you say? AT THE BALLGAME, of course! I love spring ballgames. Everything in moderation though here folks! I have been at the ballpark (one of the other) every night for the last month I swear. So if you want to see me or see what we have been up to just visit the ballpark. I'm usually the mom STANDing (because I am to nervous to sit and enjoy in the stands) right behind the team bench. I wish I could say that I have taken all of these marvelous pictures for you but sorry, no such luck. I will promise to take some within the next week or so. These past two games last night and tonight were WAY too bad weather. Last night the wind would have blown my camera away and tonight I couldn't get out of my blanket long enough to shoot any pictures. See ya at the ballpark!

does anyone else out there just get BUGGED when others don't update their blogs forever? I have serveral friends that got me hooked on blogging and now don't ever update their's. Does that just BUG anyone else? I really like to find out what everyone else is doing and heaven forbid I pick up the phone and make a good old fashioned phone call. Don't stop blogging! More on Valentine's Day later.

Dino Day! January 29,2010

My goodness these are sure out of order! You may want to scroll down to the bottom first. Sorry! But hey I did a post with pictures, by myself and it didn't get erased! Yahoo!Nathan's face when we walked into the foyer of the museum. He had fallen asleep in the van on the way down so he wasn't quite awake. All he could say is wow! This is awesome!

Digging for fossils was one of the highlights of the museum for Nathan mostly because he got to take off his shoes. The people in line before us were the examples of that. There was no convincing him to "just leave them on!"

No Kindergartner in the past 20 years in Grantsville could say his school year wasn't complete without Dinosafari Day. Nathan was so excited about the big day, starting more than a week away every morning he would wake up and the first thing out of his mouth was only...more days until dino day! He couldn't wait. The night before he almost couldn't fall asleep! When I heard that they were a few volunteers short I asked my principal if I could get someone to watch my class and go into help. After a few days he said that it just wasn't going to work out so I said "okay, that's fine I'm taking a personal day, find me a sub and I will be taking off the whole day not just a few hours!" I was a bit ticked off because it really would have only been 1.5 hours and all of the other 3rd grade teachers said they would take a few kids-that's just what we do when one of us needs to be a mom or dad! Grr! So since I was already making sub plans I decided to check Maddie out and we were going to make a day of it! A family day...at the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point! We had a blast!!! I can honestly say that this is one of my most recent favorite memories of being together we've had in a long time. Thanks for the fun guys! I sure love my kiddos!

Maddie and Nathan standing next to just the front foot of a dino skeleton. WOW! They were HUGE Creatures!!!!

Pounding open a dinosaur egg is always the highlight for every kindergarten boy!

Let's try this again!

Well, if you read the post below you will know that this is the 2nd attempt at this here Christmas blog post. I had titled it "December in 30 minutes or less." I even had pictures and for those who really follow me know that that is quite rare! I even put them on myself!!! Could someone please be proud of me because this patting myself on the back is kinda hurting my arm!!! :) Any way, here goes the 2nd attempt....husband is clear, ready, set, go!

Well...humm what did I post....December was a little odd this year because we didn't start the month off with the annual 3rd grade nutcracker at school, (because of the fire, etc.) we got out of school a whole week before Christmas, we didn't have a birthday party with friends or family for Madalyn this year, and we had our first ever "at our own house" Christmas Eve and we didn't even do a gift exchange with Adam's side of the family this year as a matter of fact we hardly even spent any time with our extended family at all. Over all we had a very low key, very quiet, very relaxed holiday season---It's a wonder we didn't all kill each other from being cooped up in the house so much!

We did take the kids to see the lights at temple square on the 23rd and it wasn't even really that crowded. We went to see the "Mo-tab Choir" with Natalie Cole with my Dad and Shawna. We took the kids sledding at the "old powerhouse" where Adam and I both used to sled as kids. To top off an almost perfect Christmas break the kids and I took a quick trip to St. George to visit friends and get out of the cold and muck.
Well, there you have it folks! The run down quick version of the cuter post that got erased! Oh well it's better than nothing, right? January highlights coming soon.

I'm so dumb!!!

I just wasted about 1.5 hours blog stalking everyone else's blogs and then it hit me! DUH! If I would have spent some of that time catching up my own blog I could have checked that off of my long list of to do's!!! Why does it take me so long to have a great thought come to me! Oh my! Tomorrow my friends, tomorrow! It's already Friday tomorrow! Wow that week went fast! Helped that we only had 2.5 days of school :) I have lots of blogging to catch up on (of my own this time) so I'd better get to sleep so that I can stay up late tomorrow night.
